What security challenges do retail businesses face?
ATMs and late-night convenience stores are frequent targets because of the perceived high-value cash on-site. They attract organised groups who use vehicles and brute force to remove machines.
“This incident shows how determined offenders can be when targeting ATMs. Retailers with cash machines should look at layered security—reinforced entry points, monitored CCTV, and alarms linked to police response. These steps help to deter attacks and limit damage to the premises.”
