Advanced IP CCTV system for a national logistics company
After completing an initial install for their Southern depot, Safeguard Systems were contacted by a national logistics company to overhaul their CCTV system at their Midlands distribution centre.
The brief for the project was to:
- Deploy external CCTV cameras
- Protect the business from a range of known threats
- Improve threat detection
Over the years we have secure many logistics centres and warehouse operations by deploying:

As a specialist warehouse and logistics CCTV company, and having already worked with this firm, we knew we could help this customer protect and secure their site.
Site survey and CCTV recommendations
After receiving the project brief, we attended site and conducted a site survey. Upon review of their site, we recommended deploying cameras at eight key locations in and around the yard.
The external commercial CCTV camera system would be designed to detect and deter:
- Vandalism
- Break-ins
- Theft
- Trespass
We recommended the CCTV footage be monitored internally during office hours and remotely at night.
Safeguard Systems recommended an IP surveillance camera system comprising of:
- 12 external IP Bullet Cameras
- Ubiquiti WIFI bridges
- 16-Channel Network Video Recorder
- Offsite CCTV monitoring
This system, along with the recommendation to deploy bullet cameras, ensures this site is protected against all known security threats.
The project outcome
Safeguard Systems deployed a team of experienced commercial CCTV installers to deliver this project over a 48 hour period.
All key external areas of the site were covered by the CCTV cameras offering complete protection of the site.
The operation turns over in excess of £2,000,000 in revenue. The combination of well placed surveillance cameras, coupled with offsite CCTV monitoring serves to protect and maintain operational continuity.
