School CCTV case study - project background
Safeguard Systems were approached by a school to provide a quotation and system design proposal for a CCTV and ANPR camera system
The school needed to improve external monitoring of its site to spot a range of security threats.
Furthermore, they needed a system to control access to protect its car parks, and to detect and track numbers plates approaching its grounds.
Safeguard has worked with many schools in the past. Therefore, we were confident the proposed solution would reflect the school’s budgetary and system requirements.
The proposed solution - CCTV and ANPR camera system
After an initial meeting, one of Safeguard Systems’ experienced surveyors attended site to understand the client’s full requirements and conduct a thorough site survey.
To protect the school from general security threats, we proposed a system comprising of multiple high-resolution IP security cameras to monitor key external areas.
Furthermore, ANPR cameras were recommended as a hybrid access control and CCTV solution to detect suspicious, unathourised vehicles.
Once logged in the system, if the system detected the number plate, an alarm signal would be sent to the school’s internal CCTV monitoring station
School CCTV & ANPR camera system - project outcome
The system was installed out of hours to minimise disruption to the day-to-day running of the school.
As experienced school security specialists, our DBS-checked CCTV installers are used to working around the needs of schools, their staff, key considerations around safeguarding, and health and safety.
This school is now protected from general threats, creating peace of mind for staff, parents, and stakeholders.
The school’s access points are now secure, with a system primed to detect and notify the security team of known suspicious vehicles approaching its site.
