Project overview & system requirements
Safeguard Systems was asked to provide a quotation for a car park access control and office door entry system to complement an office fit-out project.
The client was moving offices and needed a partner to install the system, but to also understand their stress levels around getting the project completed in time for the move.
Our role was to install the system during the fit-out, whilst our project partners carried out their works hence the ‘authentic’ on-the-job images we are sharing with you.
The car park needed securing to avoid unwanted guests taking a space for free, with the internal doors requiring a door access system to track time, and attendance and monitor health and safety.
Office access control system design and recommendations
Safeguard Systems had a surveyor attend site to confirm the client’s full requirements and to understand the installation environment.
A keypad access system would cover the need to protect the car park and a fob-based door entry system would be perfect for the internal doors.
For this system, we opted for Paxton Net2. An internal administrator would be required to manage the system, so the easy-to-administer features of Paxton Net2 would best suit the client’s requirements. The installed system would comprise of:
- Car park access keypad
- Fobs & fob readers
- Maglocks and push to exit buttons
- Emergency break glass units
Full training would be provided for assigning and deleting users.
Project outcome & handover
The system was installed on time, against a looming deadline to get the office ready for the arrival of staff. Full training was delivered on administering the system, assigning and deleting users, and how to track who is in and out of the building.
This project required extensive groundwork to fit the car park keypad reader. Working in partnership with the office fit-out company, we were able to deliver this installation on time to an exceptionally high standard.
The client was delighted with the end result. Particularly now the car park was secure – no staff complaining at 8:30am that someone had taken their space!
Employee attendance and timekeeping could be tracked helping to improve efficiency and productivity.
